What is RSO?
The term RSO is an acronym for Rick Simpson Oil. RSO refers to extremely potent decarboxylated extracts produced from strong sedative Indica strains, which have THC levels in the 90% range. If Rick Simpson himself did not produce the oils, then calling it cannabis oil is more accurate when referring to the product. RSO is recommended to be made with Indica strains instead of Sativa strains because of the sensitivity to Sativa that some people experience. RSO is a form of cannabis that has many known medical applications.
How do I obtain RSO?
You can find RSO at our dispensary in Portland, Oregon. We carry Siskiyou Sungrown Farms cannabis oil. This product is an RSO method with a nice cannabinoid profile for healing. You can also make your own cannabis oil right in the comfort of your own home (instructional video below).
How can it be used or consumed?
Orally – Everyone’s mileage will vary. As with anything, do your research, visit the dispensary, read over the packaging. Decide how much is right for you.
Topically – It can be applied to the skin for many skin conditions such as psoriasis, eczema, extremely dry skin, sores, melanoma, and sensitive skin.
Inhalant – Simply smoke the cannabis oil alone or onto a bowl, paired with your favorite Strain (not meant for dabbing at all!).
How will it affect a first time user?
Orally – You may become sleepy and giggly at first. You may wake up for a few days feeling the afterglow of the cannabis in your system as your body adjusts. This is normal at first when consuming RSO. Some individuals may become acclimated quicker than others. Like any new medicine, time is your guide.
Inhaled – The effects are very sedating and will wash over your whole body from head to toe, eliminating stress, pain, muscle aches, and headaches. It will cause you to have a big smile on your face and sleep like a baby.
Topically – It is recommended that you gauge the effects based on the amount applied to the skin.
Benefits from RSO?
Sleep like a baby! Wake up feeling refreshed and healthy. Minimize stress and anxiety. There are signs it may shrink cancerous tumor cells in mice and humans, although more research needs to be done. A few of the aliments people use RSO for are: ADHD, OCD, autism, diabetes, anti-depression, cerebral palsy, dyskinesia, parkinsons, AIDS, sleep disorders, stress, pain relief, anti-inflammatory, nausea, various skin conditions, eating disorders, cell rejuvenation, epilepsy, restless leg syndrome, migraines, chronic pain and tinnitus. It also aids your endocannabinoid system CB1 & CB2 receptors.
These claims require more research, you may not see the same results
